What to do?

Boredom is so powerful. It gets even more powerful when you have nothing you can do. When the weather is bad and you can't go outside. When the dog keeps barking at the ghosts of fun and entertainment that drift through the silent halls of your dead house.  When you have nothing to do but babble to an imaginary blog audience who is to shy to even comment to show you you're not crazy. *hint* I wish it would be tomorrow already!
I'm soooooooooo bored!

My Favorite Verse

1 Corinthians 10:6

Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did.

This Week The Trend

These lyrics are so true! I don't have much time today so just read the lyrics and maybe listen to "This Week The Trend" by: Relient K

And I just want to get mugged at knife point
to get cut enough to wake me up
cause I know that I don't want to die
sitting around watching my life go by
and what we take from this is what we'll get and we haven't quite figured it out just yet
because all of us are all too stuck
strapped to a chair watching our lives blow up
stuck watching our lives blow up

Hair Disaster

"Oh, where is my hairbrush? Oh where is my hairbrush? Oh, where, oh, where, oh, where, oh, where, oh, where, oh, where, oh, where, oh, where oh, where ... is my hairbrush?"
~Larry the cucumber

I love my hair. Personally, I love my hair! I grow my hair out and donate it to Locks of Love so I always have LOTS of hair. When I first started growing it for Locks of Love I was 4 yrs old. I got it cut when I was 6 and then grew it out again. We, my mom and I, measured, and my hair grows at a rate of approximately ½ inch a month. I donate my hair every 2 years always on the even years. I did it when I was, 6, 8, 10, 12, etc.
So, apparently when I was little, I was not the kind of kid to grab a pair of scissors and give myself a new style. I stuck with whatever hair cut I got. However my hair was long most of the time so I was prone to getting things stuck in it. I always got them out again though! I got a piece of gum stuck in my hair once and that was the first time I got anything TOO stuck and had to cut it out. That incident was closely followed by the time I got a little too close to a metal fan going full speed and got SO MUCH hair stuck in the fan that it was completely clogged. The fan didn’t even have to be stopped or unplugged because there was so much of my hair in it that it couldn’t turn I it wanted to(which it didn’t, it was an inanimate object… I think…).
So anyway, my hair is really fine, as in each little hair is like thinner that a spider’s web, and it is really think, as in there is a TON of those teeny tiny little hairs. Unless I brushed my hair twice a day every day I used to actually get mats in it! Like you know when you have a dog and their fur mats up and you have to cut it off? That is what my hair used to do! We only had to actually cut a “rats’ nest”, as my mom called them, out of my hair once.
For the last… ummm… well, since school started I have been wearing my hair EXACTLY the same way EVERY day. So I experimenting with new hair styles and one of those was curly. My heir is REALLY straight and won’t curl for the life of me! The only way is to burn to a crisp curling it for multiple hours and then use 1 entire can of hair spray, and spray until my hair fells like dried out angel hair pasta! Then I just can’t touch it or the curls will fall out.
Last night I was experimenting with more effective methods of curling and it all went wrong. I wet a portion of my bangs about 1 inch across and grabbed a comb. I made sure there were no knots and then twisted the comb around and around until it was right up to my scalp. I left there for about 2 minutes before I thought about it and realized it might get stuck. Immediately I tried to undo the horrible mistake I had made but to no avail. My hair, my precious hair, my darn thick hair, was stuck and there was no possible way to get it out. I tried; don’t get me wrong, I tried for 35 minutes before I gave up. By that time it was bust a ball of frizz protruding from my forehead. I cut it out. I couldn’t even pull it far enough away from head to cut it properly! Now I have a small patch on fore head that is about ½ inch long and sticks straight up.
My science teacher has this retard-rule about hats in class and, even though I realize that is supposedly disrespectful to wear a hat inside, I NEED TO WEAR A HAT! I did everything short of showing him the funny hair to convince, but finally he agreed and I get to wear a hat at school!
I guess the moral here is either, don’t ever twist a comb up in your hair or, give yourself an embarrassing hair cut and you can get away with anything!

BLOG VIA EMAIL? WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?

Think of me when you're out, when you're out there
I'll beg you nice from my knees
When the world treats you way too fairly
It's a shame I'm a dream.

Re-writing Is Dangerous Business

Have you ever heard of Aesop's fables? You would have had to have been living under a rock for a pretty long time not to have heard of them - you freaky people who live under rocks! Aesop was a storyteller who used symbolic characters such as, shepherds, foxes, lions, mice, donkeys, wolves and monkeys, to convey his moral or opinion in an interesting and easy to relate to way. An example is, The Tortoise and the Hare. Who hasn't heard that one? A tortoise and a hare are in a race and, of course, the hare is winning. He is so comfortable with his lead that he stops to take a nap. The tortoise finally catches up and then passes the hare and wins the race. The moral of that story is: Slow and steady wins the race
In a  writing class I took two years ago, my teacher gave us an assignment to re-write an Aesop’s fable. I chose and easy one than, but it was still extremely fun. My friend Monica is an amazing writer as you can see on her blog, Under_Strike, and when we get together we some random stuff. Almost as random as the stuff I do with my best friend/cousin! No, we are a random pair, but we are at least partially normal thanks to her sister, who helps keep us grounded. So the random thing that we did at her birthday party was re-write Aesop’s fables. I started mine but I haven’t finished…
I chose a story about a fox, a lion, and an ass- or donkey. The three went hunting together, (who knew donkeys were big hunters?)  and agreed to split their plunder equally. The donkey divided the meat into three equal piles and divvied them out. The lion pounced on the donkey and ate him, and proceeded to ask the fox to re-divvy the meat for only the two of them. The fox gave the lion a HUGE pile and himself, only a small amount. The lion asked, “Where did you learn to divvy like that?” The fox replied, “What happened to Donkey.”

The moral was, We learn wisdom by the misfortune of others.

Here is the beginning that I have for my story:
Life is full injustices. The strong preying on the weak and weary, the rich and powerful striking fear into the hearts of their hapless victims.  Broken hearts shattered beyond repair, and manipulated adolescents slaves to the very drugs that were invented to save lives that now pollute and desecrate them instead.
Amidst this madness live heroes and cowards, cops and con-men, locked in an endless battle of wrong vs. right, good vs. evil. In the past right has always prevailed. But as time wares on, the bad in this wretched world of ours, has begun to far out way the good. From politicians we get corruption, from the government we get cover-ups.

Writer's Block

"There's nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein."

~Walter Wellesley "Red" Smith

What if my veins collapse every time I try to bleed myself dry on my keyboard? What if I can’t describe the balding camouflage pattern on Monica’s dog for life of me? What if I can’t think of what comes next?
When I write, I don’t know what’s coming next. I’m living the story with the characters and I just let the words erupt from my fingertips as they dance across the keyboard, or paper, or wall, or whatever is handy. My characters are me living an ideal version of my life in my imagination and I just watch over their shoulders and make notes like an obnoxious journalist.  I don’t decide what comes next, they do! I feel like God, I created them, but they can make their own decisions and I just have to watch as they send their life either to Heaven or Hell. But when I sit down and nothing comes out I can’t make myself force it so I sit there with creators block. When I force the words I’m interfering with the story and I might as well kill the characters and their whole little world because it isn’t my story to write it’s their lives!

~Elise (stay gold!)

P.S. I’m sorry about some of my word choices, I am in a passionate mood and they are all used in the proper context so don’t you go and judge me by thinking I’m some kind of derelict or something!

I Feel Like A Copy Cat

My friend Monica posted an excerpt from her book on her blog... so now I want to too! Oh well I know she will forgive me! Here it goes:

Getting out of bed Jess crossed his bedroom and looked in the mirror. He still had the scar. Nick had back handed him one time; just for good measure. But a ring on his right hand had sliced into Jess’s cheek, just below the bone, and sent blood spatter across the room. It left a one-inch scar. Unconsciously, he traced the it and watched as his reflection copied his every move exactly. If he could have one wish, it would be to go back in time and never go to camp.

My Need To Read

I’m on a hunt for good books. I love mystery, suspense and thriller books. I love books about thieves and spies and I love it when the good guy is to terribly innocent for example Nancy Drew… she disturbs me… However, Alex Rider is pretty cool and I love the Escape From Furnace novels and the Gallagher Academy series! In the Inkworld trilogy, which I am in the middle of, there is one character I just wish would die already and that isn’t a good thing. The Bug Man novels rock my sox off and I really enjoy The Outsiders as well… in fact enjoy isn’t a good word for that… how about… adore… Yes, I adore The Outsiders. I have an entire blog devoted to them! Anywho! If you know of a good book to read just leave me a comment and I might read your favorite book! *SARCASM* Yay! (I said "I might read your favorite book!" as if I have followers who actually care! LOL!)

~Elise

P.S. I don’t do books with lots of swearing and I DEFFINETLY don’t do mushy gushy lovey stuff! Plus I finally have the cover images for Scorpia Rising and Uncommon Criminals

Good Read!

I just read a really good book!

OMG! Wait...? What....?

I won the spelling bee! I won the spelling bee? I WON THE SPELLING BEE!?!?! It’s true, I won! I shouldn’t have though. We, my friend Monica and I, were totally psyched all day long. We quizzed each other all day long and when the time came we congratulated each other on words spelled correctly. As it was, we studied the wrong words! Monica memorized all 1,000 in 7 days! I only learned like… 1oo… or something… So we studied for words like, Baccalaureate and sarsaparilla and prestidigitation and sacrilegious and kielbasa and abhorrence but the words we got were… and I quote: Attention, Bachelor, Botanist, Dormitories, and Exaggerate. SOOOOOOOOOOOO EASY! The rules were that once it got down to two people the 1st got a chance and they messed they weren’t out, but the 2nd person got a chance to spell the word right and they had to spell another word right. So pretty much it could go on forever! Or until someone got two right in a row. Originally the people who I got to sign up were, Monica, Ben (The girl who thought she knew all the words already… until I asked her to sell baccalaureate.), Nathen, and DeAndre… oh! And me! So Nathen dropped out immediately and Ben went home “sick” 20 minutes before the bee (heh-heh I feel nerdy calling it ‘the bee’!), and so it was just Monica and me because DeAndre got out on his first word. (It isn’t like he studied or anything he just signed up so Monica and I would have a chance.) Monica gets Dormitories and thinks the letter I but says the letter A by accident. So then it’s my turn. I think If it isn’t spelled with an A that it must be spelled with an I! because I had no idea how to spell it! So I spell it “D-O-R-M-I-T-O-R-I-E-S?” and the judge says, “Correct.” Then I get the word exaggerate and I’m thinking What? Really? EASY WIN! But then I think about how hard Monica practiced and I almost spell it wrong on purpose. But I don’t. They say I’m a good speller and that I deserve it, but I know I don’t. The prize is 25 bucks but I just can’t get myself excited. It wasn’t a fair win. So… I gave the gift card to Monica today. I made her promise before I gave to her that she wouldn’t give it back, but when I handed it to her and she saw what it was she almost threw it at me. She told me I was the winner not her, but I didn’t care. So… *Sigh* that was my daily rant! Sometimes I take it out on my cousin sometimes on my blog… lucky you!

My List Of Thr33

So I have this list of actors that I think are hot. Not just ‘hot’ but note-worthy hot. So first is Mathew Bomber, he is tall dark and ruggedly handsome. He was in Chuck as Bryce Larkin and he is the main character of White Collar, Neil Caffrey, in my list of three hottest/cutest guys he is in the HOT category. Next is Chris Egan. He is super cute and has the most adorable accent in the universe! He was most recently in the movie Letters to Juliet he was also in Eragon as Roran. He goes in my CUTE category. Last, but definitely not least, is Alex Pettyfer. He was in the movie Stormbreaker and is in the upcoming movies Beastly and I Am Number Four. He goes right in the middle because he is cute and hot!

Then my mom insisted we watch this recording of a play I was in when I was like 10 and it was really embarrassing because it was a play of The Christmas Carol and I was scrooge! Sooooo embarrassing! I tried to sound like a man and I didn’t work at all! Now everyone is laughing and I hate it! UGHHHH!!!!

Welcome

This is my welcome mat:

Nobody expects in the middle of nowhere so I like to see what think when I welcome them into my world. A world in which anything is possible, and where all things are planned and everything has a purpose whether we can see it or not. Like a giant game of connect the dots. You don’t always see what the picture will be before you put the effort in, but the artist knows, the artist has known from the start. In my world I can make the rain stop if I want to just by my attitude.  Fairies fly through my room at night and the fire flies really do burn like embers. A dragon lights my candles so I can read by their light, and my mirror really does talk to me about Snow White and her unending beauty.
In my world I’m a famous author like I hope to be here some day. The words flow from my pen like a river, strong, surrounding, and unstoppable. But… enough of that! You don’t want to hear about the inner reaches of mind… do you? If you do… you have problems! This is a blog about my all too REAL life! My name is Elise and I am timeless my age is irrelevant.  I love to take pictures and I think I’m pretty good!  I also love to write and I intend to be published one day!
My anger is fueled once again by school! I’m not a very good speller, but I sighed up for the spelling bee anyway, because there is a $25 prize. The spelling bee is 6 days from now. My math teacher told me when I tried to sign up that couldn’t, cause no one else at my school had! So I go phone calling and I had to call guys too. If I got 4 more people (besides me) to sign up we would do it. Well calling the guys didn’t go really well… their mom’s were like, “There is a girl on the phone for you!” and I just blushed on the other end of the phone line… AWKWARD! I finally got enough people to sign up and my math teacher gives me the words. THERE ARE 01,00!!!! I ONLY HAVE 6 DAYS!!!!!! I’m never going to win!!!!!! They are words like “baccalaureate” and “kielbasa” and “sarsaparilla”! WHAT THE HECK?!?!
Oh well! I just have to work really hard! And always remember, I before E except after C!
